Organizer(s): United Nations Development Programme - Programme on Governance in the Arab Region (UNDP-POGAR) and the Arab Centre for the Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession.
The conference was organized as part of POGAR's rule of law program that is focused on the independence and strengthening of Arab judiciaries. This second conference of Arab justice reiterated the importance of promoting and strengthening the independence of the judiciary in the Arab countries as a follow-up to the first conference on Arab justice held in Beirut, Lebanon in 1999.
